Emotional and relational peace, joy, and power can feel impossible and elusive sometimes. But, often it takes one small first step to shift your life towards greater health. I love working with people ready to invite themselves to take that small step and see where it leads.

We are located at 20 Madbury Road in Durham, New Hampshire in the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship building on the corner of Madbury and Woodman Roads.
When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, you are welcome to park in either of the two lots adjacent to the building. Please enter the building through the front door on Madbury Road and have a seat in the waiting room directly up the stairs and to your left. When it is time for your appointment, your therapist will come to greet you.

Your privacy and confidentiality are very important to us. The therapeutic environment should feel safe and comfortable - a place where you can share important things about your background as well as your private thoughts and feelings. Your provider will only share information about you with your written permission or in emergency situations when they become concerned about your safety or the safety of someone else.
Prior to beginning treatment, it is a good idea to verify that your insurance plan will cover your provider’s services. You should check your insurance benefits and coverage by phone, website or handbook and seek answers to the following questions:
Is my provider in my plan’s network of providers?
Do I have a deductible to satisfy? The deductible is the amount that some insurance companies require the client to pay before the insurance will pay the provider directly.
What is my copayment per visit? The copayment is the portion of the fee that clients are responsible to pay at the time of service.
Do I need to ask for a “pre-authorization” prior to my first visit? (If so, call for an authorization number). Some insurance plans require clients to get “permission” to see a provider before they begin treatment. If your plan requires this, it is essential that you get this before you see your therapist for the first session. Failure to do so may result in the client benign responsible for the therapists full fee.
What are the limits of my mental health benefit (ie. number of sessions allowed per year, or dollar limits)?

Missed appointments and late cancelations are not covered by insurance and are the responsibility of the client to pay. The fee for missed appointments and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice is $150. This is the least desirable fee to pay (and to collect) because it is wasteful to both client and therapist. Nonetheless, this is a very important fee to respect. It is necessary in order to minimize lost treatment time and a loss of opportunity for another client to take your appointment slot.
In exchange for clients respecting the policy about missed appointments and late cancellations, we will be respectful and fair regarding various circumstances where appointments need to be changed. We do not charge clients this fee when the weather conditions are clearly hazardous. If an emergency comes up that requires a change on short notice, we will make every attempt to offer you an open appointment time if there are any available and waive this fee under those circumstances. Similarly, if you need to cancel or re-schedule on short notice and we can find another client to take your cancelled time slot, we will waive this fee.
Accidents, emergencies, illnesses and childcare misfortunes are common reasons for clients to need to cancel or re-schedule on short notice. We are sympathetic to these circumstances because we all encounter them and they are beyond our control. However, we cannot routinely waive our fee under these circumstances if we are to maintain our practice. If you have concerns about the likelihood of needing to make short notice cancellations, please discuss this with your provider at the outset of treatment.
